Lacrosse Goals & NetsBack to Top
By Kyle Prussing, Manager, ComLax Franklin
Growing up, the net in my backyard was definitely a favorite hangout for myself and the local neighborhood lax rats. As we all grew older, we continued to cause major damage to both our homes (mainly the windows) and automobiles (I found out at the age of 13 that the headlamps to a Mercedes are NOT cheap to replace). Many of these costly repairs could have been avoided by simply buying a better goal or net. Or actually, ahem, HITTING THE NET, but I digress. Listed below are few things to make note of when choosing the proper goal for yourself or your child.
Most manufacturers carry a wide array of goals & nets with different specs. Here is a simple way of breaking it down:
Regulation goals for YOUTH/HIGH-SCHOOL/COLLEGE are 6X6.
Nets sold by diameter or netting: 2.5MM, 3MM, 4MM, 5MM, 6MM. Prices generally range from $65- 200. Most goals include a 2.5MM OR 3MM net. Replacement nets are sold at all ComLax retail and web locations.

Maverik Lacrosse Goal (HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE AGES 16 UP) Includes 4MM net $159.99 (our recommendation, this is a great goal and great value)
PLEASE NOTE: All players of all ages and abilities shoot at different speeds. That being said, some goals/nets may wear faster than others. Listed below are a few sugg to extend the life of your goal
1. Stringing - Take the proper amount of TIME to string the net correctly. Whether you’re a veteran or first timer, this process should take at least 35 minutes. Make sure all strings are secured tightly and net does not sag. Loose netting can cause tears/ rips to occur faster than normal.
2. Storage - most goals listed above are easy to maneuver around your yard. (under 25 lbs strung). Bringing your net in the garage or basement during winter months will help extend life. Most all goals can be broken down in 5-10 minutes.
As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to speak with any of our store managers. Enjoy the Summer!!!!!
